Julia Antunes

Julia Antunes is a senior at Mt. Lebanon High School whose work centers on creating more equitable and inclusive schools and communities. A Latina and the daughter of immigrant parents, Julia draws on her own experiences growing up to advocate for students whose voices and experiences are often underrepresented. As Student Representative to the Pennsylvania State Board of Education, Julia represents 1.7 million K–12 students and advocates for greater educational access and opportunity. She also serves as Student Representative to the Mt. Lebanon School Board, Youth Policy Advisor to NCEE, DEI Committee Co-Chair for PASC, Co-Founder and President of the Global Cultures Club, U.S. Youth Ambassador to Ecuador, and as a tutor for the Latino Community Center. Across state policy, student leadership, and direct service, Julia works to ensure that young people of every background have a voice, a sense of belonging, and the opportunity to thrive.
