Make Your Voice Heard on Black Women’s Equal Pay Day
This year, Black Women's Equal Pay Day is July 10. This date marks how far into 2025 Black women would have to work in order to earn the same pay white, non-Hispanic American men earned in 2024. AAUW reports that in 2023, "Black women working full-time, year-round were paid 66 cents" for every dollar paid to non-Hispanic white men.
Misogynoir, or the combination of anti-Blackness and misogyny that uniquely targets Black women, is critical to address in order to achieve pay equity. We can make make progress in our community by sharing knowledge, advocating for workplace policies that promote equity, and contacting our representatives to encourage the changes we want to see. Raise awareness of Black Women's Equal Pay Day with our new, ready-to-use toolkit featuring graphics and text to share with your networks.
