Our Implementation of AI in Partnership with the OpenAI Foundation
YWCA Greater Pittsburgh is pleased to have been awarded a grant from the OpenAI Foundation to support the thoughtful implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to strengthen our work. This investment will help us responsibly use AI to better serve the community in a way that increases our impact and reflects our commitment to equity. Using these tools in key internal processes will allow our team to continue spending the most amount of time possible focused on what matters most: serving our partner families and delivering our mission.
Importantly, this initiative is designed to augment, not replace, human efforts. By innovating our systems, our team will have greater capacity to deepen impact and respond more effectively to community needs, which we continue to see increase. We also recognize the ethical considerations that come with using AI. As part of this project, we will be training our own AI agent specifically for our organization’s use, ensuring increased accessibility and that resources are available to as many individuals and families in our region as possible, while minimizing environmental impacts. While retaining our human-centric approach and by putting strong safeguards in place, we look forward to using this tool to advance equity and access for our region.
We’re grateful for this grant and excited about the potential to enhance our capacity while staying true to our mission and the people we serve.
