A message from CEO Dr. Angela Reynolds in response to the 2026 State of the Union
The State of the Union can be measured by whether women, children, and families are able to live with safety, dignity, and hope. Every day, YWCA associations see families striving to afford housing, child care, and basic necessities — and YWCA Greater Pittsburgh works to provide the stability that allows them to fully participate in their communities and local economies. As we reflect on our nation’s progress, we must also recognize that many families still face barriers to opportunity, including economic inequity and systemic challenges that limit their ability to thrive. For nearly 160 years, YWCA Greater Pittsburgh has advanced safety, dignity, and justice for all women and families, and we remain committed to ensuring that every person has a fair chance to succeed.
