YWCA in Action - December 2025

A Trip to IUP

Middle school and high school students in our PATHmakers program, part of our Opportunity Pathways Programs, recently visited IUP to get a glimpse of campus life. While there, they spoke with admissions staff, toured the campus, and attended an academic fair. Participants also received resources on majors, scholarships, and on-campus clubs and activities.

BNY Impact Award

YWCA GP was honored to receive a BNY IMPACT award at the IMPACT Pittsburgh Year End Celebration. YWCA GP's Volunteer Engagement Manager, Natalia Goodnow, spoke about our mission and work at the ceremony. Learn more about our volunteer program and how to get involved here.

Recognizing YWCA GP Staff

YWCA GP recently hosted a Staff Appreciation celebration full of good food, games, and raffle prizes. This annual event was full of connection and well-deserved recognition in honor of the incredible efforts our staff bring to our mission every day. Learn how to join the team here.

Celebrating the Holiday Season

Early Learning students had fun learning about holiday traditions including Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. During Kwanzaa Week, YWCA GP CEO Dr. Angela Reynolds and VP of Equity & Culture Sebastian Lacy stopped by the classroom to read My First Kwanzaa and Kevin's Kwanzaa. Students also made mkeka mats by weaving together strips of paper and completed kinara coloring pages.
