Action Conversations are broadcast live on Zoom on the third Wednesday of each month from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST. ASL interpretation is provided. Participants are encouraged to contribute questions and comments during the discussion. Register below to participate.

This panel considers how today’s widening wealth gap is rooted in an economic system built on racial, gender, and labor injustices. Panelists discuss how profit-driven systems exploit workers and sow discord to maintain existing concentrations of wealth among an elite few. Together, panelists identify ways to challenge these ever-demanding systems and build collective power toward a more just and caring future.

Rooted in Pittsburgh’s history, this conversation brings together museum and library professionals to explore how institutions once defined by exclusion can transform into spaces that honor diverse voices, repair harm, and celebrate community. Join us as we explore ways that museums and libraries can help build a more just and inclusive future for all.

February 18, 2026: Black Fatigue

Black fatigue is a relatively new term for a very old reality: the exhaustion caused by generations of racism and systemic injustice. Panelists will address the ways in which this struggle affects the well-being of Black people. At the same time, this panel documents histories of healing, rest, and joy among Black communities as enduring acts of resistance and renewal.

Recent advances in technology have promised to make our present and future lives easier, but many point out that long-standing problems—racial, economic, and environmental—are compounded by AI. Panelists will address the human rights and environmental challenges posed by AI and chart ethical and responsible ways forward.
