Housing

Providing safe, affordable housing.

Over 25 years ago, YWCA Greater Pittsburgh initiated the country’s first transitional housing program for women dealing with abuse and experiencing homelessness. Today, we work through Allegheny Link to provide rapid re-housing and transitional housing to help individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency.

YWCA Greater Pittsburgh also operates YW Homes, Inc., a non-profit subsidiary corporation formed in January of 1999, with the goal of providing affordable housing choices for those who need it – whether or not they have section 8 vouchers. YW Homes consists of ten single-family homes that are located in the first tier suburban communities of Swissvale, Edgewood, Ingram, Baldwin, and Brentwood. ***Our waitlist for YW Homes, Inc. is currently closed.***

PLEASE NOTE: All requests for supportive housing must go through Allegheny Link. YWCA Greater Pittsburgh is not able to accept direct housing requests.

Allegheny Link provides information on services to help individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
