2025 Weekly Themes

  • This first week is all about starting off camp right. Campers will join in some “Getting to Know Your Teacher” activities as well as creating some beautiful student self-portraits during the first few days of the week. Later in the week, campers will keep their creative juices flowing while making Juneteenth bracelets and sketching their own silhouettes. Campers will also be trying out their green thumbs while planting some vegetables they will harvest and enjoy at the end of the summer! (Note: no camp on June 19, 2025)

  • The race is on as this week is all about modes of transportation. Campers will be spending the week learning about and creating their own helicopters, tube cars, paper airplanes, and sphero, indi cars.  Who can race the fastest? Who can fly the farthest?   The sphero, indi car is an entry level robot that is designed to introduce early learners to the fundamentals of computational thinking, STEM and computer science principles.  By the end of the week, campers will have gained new knowledge about transportation methods, solved puzzles, drive their own cars, as well as experienced the thrill of some friendly competition.

  • This action-packed week is full of making your own pet rocks, learning about volcanoes, a field trip to a local spray park, a visit from the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, and more! By the end of the week, campers will know the rock cycle, as well as enjoyed a splash in a spray park. (Note: no camp on July 4, 2025)

  • Get ready to blast off! This week is all about exploring space and all that it has to offer. Campers will learn about the planets, the phases of the moon, and constellations. To test their strength, campers will be shooting off stomp rockets. There will also be a chance to experience space through an inflatable planetarium.

  • Step into a world of song and dance during this week’s exploration of sound and movement. Have you ever heard a banana sing? Join us in making Makey Makey banana pianos and you’ll hear just how magical one banana can sound! This week, campers will also be creating their own instruments as well as learning how water can be incorporated into music.

  • The wild adventure takes off this week as campers will learn about different animals and their habitats. We will start the week off by creating animal masks, habitat dioramas, and bird houses. Campers will also be participating in an animal track scavenger hunt and taking a field trip to the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden!

  • This explorational week is all about mindfulness activities and moving our bodies. There will be a visit from the Giant Eagle Mobile Market to help campers learn about and create their own healthy salads. To go in the salads, campers will be harvesting the vegetables they planted during the first week of camp!

  • Join us for a week at the beach! Campers will be tie dying t-shirts, creating sand art, playing and learning about kinetic sand, and building their own sandcastles. On the last day of camp, campers will be showing off their projects from the week/summer during a parent gallery walkthrough. Don’t forget to pack your swimsuit as there will be outdoor water play this week as well.
