Building Learning Opportunities with PPG

Part of our Opportunity Pathways Programs, STEM Impact is a “train the trainer” initiative that supplies partner afterschool providers with the instruction, materials, and resources they need to deliver quality STEM programming to students in grades Pre-K to 8.

With the generous support of funders and partners, we introduced individual STEM kits in the 2024-2025 school year. These kits simplified material distribution for our STEM Impact partners and created fun, personal, and hands-on learning opportunities for students, such as learning about the states of matter through making marshmallows and slime. In total, we distributed 1,040 STEM kits to 21 community partners in the 2024-2025 school year, providing educational opportunities to 724 unique students!

Continuing the impactful partnership of the PPG Foundation who supported this programming, we recently welcomed PPG employee volunteers, who assembled over 300 STEM kits themed around electricity. This hands-on support helped us prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, ensuring students will have the materials they need to grow their STEM knowledge.

We are grateful to all our Opportunity Pathways Programs funders and partners for helping ensure our students have access to high-quality STEM education.
